SHAUN MAGHER ANIMATION

I first became aware of the process of animation when I saw a documentary of the making of Richard William’s ‘A Christmas carol’. I was fascinated how the artists painted on celluloid. I remember trying to do the same as a child painting on cling film. It didn’t work but the seed was sown.

 

In 1990 I graduated from the Nation Film and Television school and crafted my skills in performance animation and visual storytelling, working with many UK animation and film studios, including Aardman, Hibbert Ralph, Cosgrove Hall, Manga, Slave,  and I eventually set up my own studio, where I worked on Features, TV series, Commercials and station branding.

 

I am often asked what the highlight of my career has been so far and I always state animating Captain Caveman for a promo for the Turner broadcasting ‘Boomerang’ channel. I have had the great privilege of animating many iconic characters, from Johnny Bravo through to the Famous Grouse.
